Not sure what you mean, THE HUNTERS is free at both locations, on the Kindle as well as in every other format. Trust me, there is no trickery or deception, the ebook is as free as commenting on this post. I'm always looking for legal free ebooks for my blog readers, but the DRM and the sign-up routine for this novella presents way too many hoops to jump through.
Adobe DRM'd editions are so problematic that they're not even worth getting for free. Having to register ID numbers for any version of this novella (Mobipocket & Microsoft's reader) is just too much hassle. Not to mention having to provide my address to a 3rd party (or any party at all for that matter).
Just stick it on Scribd.com like RandomHouse does with its free ebooks. No hassle for the reader. Or Smashwords.com.

My friend and I were recently talking about how we as a society are so hooked onto electronics. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory falls, the possibility of uploading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.
